I took this photo from Harriet Island in St. Paul. I like how the colorful apartments bring a bit of life to this otherwise gray scene.
If you look closely, you can see some ice houses and people standing out there. The wind blowing off the lake was bitterly cold, and what seemed cloudy and mysterious in my last photos there now seems harsh and desolate.
This is the Prairie Island Nuclear Plant in Southeast Minnesota, near Red Wing. It houses 2 of the 3 nuclear reactors in Minnesota, the other one being at the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant.
