This scene from Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge was rather dramatic in person. It was on the Wildlife Loop that we drove. This was a rather large pond that was full of downed trees, turned white in the sun with their roots breaching the water. They had a severe windstorm here in the past few years that knocked down many trees in some areas, but I don’t know if that is the cause of this skeletal scene. Sherburne was very lush at the time, so this really stood out.
